“It’s rainy today.” Lain Claes rested against a brick wall under the awning after the last bell for the day. Chin-length raven colored hair veiled the right side of her face, covering one of her eyes, which were red with colored contact lenses. A leather jacket and grey, faded jeans with a chain wallet kept her lithe form warm in the moist air. Her hands came down in front of her and idly held the strap of her loosely hanging book bag. “You want to take the bus instead?” her friend asked from beside her. There stood a shy brunette by the name of Fiona Pearle. Lain’s thin lips curled into a slight smile. “N
